Ownomy is a marketplace for selling, and soon renting out, the things people own. It is a Dune Ventures company. This page says what we collect, why, and who else handles it. We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist we keep your email, your city, whether you want to rent things out or rent them, the categories you picked, the rough value band you chose (if any), and the campaign tags on the link you arrived through. We use them to email you when rentals open near you and to decide which cities and categories to open first. We keep them until rentals open where you are, or until you ask us to remove you.

Your account

• Your email address and password. The password is stored only as a secure hash by our database provider; we never see it.
• The username and display name you choose. They appear on your listings and your public seller page.
• Your listings: titles, descriptions, details, prices, the value you declare, and photos. Photos are re-saved in your browser before upload, which removes location and camera data.

How the site runs

• Sign-in cookies keep you signed in. They are needed for the site to work; we use no advertising or analytics cookies.
• Our hosting provider logs requests (such as IP address and browser type) for security and to stop abuse, like repeated sign-in attempts.
• We count a few events, such as a visitor following our link to WristWorth or trying to list a watch, so we know how often they happen.

Who else handles it

• Supabase stores our database, accounts and photos, in the United States.
• Vercel hosts the website.

Before we take payments, check identity or send email ourselves, we will name those providers here. Payments will be handled by the payment provider; we will not store full card numbers.

What's public

Live listings, with their photos, and your username, display name and seller page are visible to anyone. Drafts and paused listings are visible only to you.

Your choices

You can edit or remove your listings and profile at any time. To get a copy of your information, or to have your account or waitlist entry deleted, email privacy@ownomy.com. We answer within 30 days. Where the law requires us to keep records, such as for completed payments, we keep only what it requires.

Age

Ownomy is for people 18 and over.

Changes

When this page changes, the date at the top changes. If a change affects how we use information you already gave us, we'll tell you by email first.
